Cylindrical roller bearings have high radial-load capacity and moderate thrust loads. They contain rollers which are cylindrically-shaped, but are not true cylinders. Instead, these rollers are crowned or end-relieved to reduce stress concentrations. This geometry results in low friction and allows for high-speed applications.
A needle roller bearing is a very compact bearing which uses cylindrical rollers. They are an economical alternative for applications requiring minimal space to carry a given load at a desired speed. They can be an ideal choice because of their ability to handle a given level of speed and load capacity, yet have the smallest cross section of all roller bearing types.
The Ceramic and EXSEV Bearings are designed for applications operating in extreme special environments where conventional bearings are not suitable for. These bearings have an optimal operation in extreme environments like clean, vacuum, high temperature, corrosive and contaminating conditions. They are already being used in an extensive range of applications and state of the art technologies.
Ball bearing units consists of pre-lubricated sealed ball bearings and a housing which varies in shape. They are capable of aligning themselves efficiently using the spherical fitting surface between the bearing and housing, effectively preventing overloads due to misalignment.
A bearing is a moving device that supports rotational movement between a stationary part and a rotating part. Rolling bearings have a long service life, high interchangeability and is power saving. The rolling elements of the bearings are assembled between inner and outer rings with or without cage. The great advantages include: Low starting friction, Ability to support both radial and thrust load and high speed rotation, Easy to handle and maintained, Interchangeable and easy acquirement, Can operate in extreme environments, and Simple methods of grease lubrication.
Spherical roller bearings feature a large load rating and self-aligning capability. This type of bearing is suitable for low- or medium speed applications which involve heavy or impact loading. They are self-aligning, double-row, combination radial and thrust bearings. They perform consistently, even under conditions of extreme speed, application-specific stress, and marginal lubrication.
A tapered roller bearing is a bearing in which tapered rollers (truncated conical rollers) are inserted between the cup (outer ring) and cone (inner ring). The rollers are guided by the cone back face rib. They have high radial and axial (thrust) load capacities at low to intermediate speeds. Taper roller bearings are available in single-row, two-row and four-row designs.
Thrust ball bearings are divided into single and double direction types. The former is able to accommodate axial load in one direction, while the latter is able to accommodate it in both directions. Neither is suitable for applications that involve radial load or high-speed rotation. This type of bearing is commonly used in automotive, aerospace and marine applications.
An angular contact ball bearing uses axially asymmetric races. Angular contact bearings better support 'combined loads' (loading in both the radial and axial directions) and the contact angle of the bearing should be matched to the relative proportions of each. The larger the contact angle (typically in the range 10 to 45 degrees), the higher the axial load supported, but the lower the radial load.
Deep groove ball bearings are the most common types of bearings which are being used in a variety of applications. This type of bearing supports radial and a certain degree of axial load in both directions simultaneously. They are available in a variety of arrangement; shielded, sealed and snap ring types.
